I think the medium of interactive experiences provided by computer technology has a long way to be matured. We have lots of ideas that what we want to see in the future and I think we are not so far from many of them.
Augmented Reality and Brain Computing Interface are and will be very hot topics for the future, interesting to see the videos from Hrafn. The BCI video shows the Emotive EPOC (www.emotive.com) control system where you can control and influence a game with your mind only. This product is focused for the game industry and can be thought as another layer of input to a computer system. This can also play a big role in a storytelling aspect where the game can detect how you feel about something that is shown to you and change behavior accordingly.
One very interesting youtube video that I found that I fully recommend watching, tho it is 1hour long

Its hard to say how the future will be, but it is sure that we have a long way to go where we can say that the medium of interactive experience provided by computer technology will be matured. But we are moving very fast in that direction as computers get faster, cheaper and smaller. I think we will see more Augmented Reality with glasses, phones and then maybe even drawn on somekind of lenses. BCI will be used more to begin with for like prosthesis, games and people that are paralyzed can move and express themselves in a VE. Later BCI can be used to extend Virtual Reality experience by helping you to move items and such in VR, also to control 3D holograms like rotate a car. At last BCI will sense your thoughts and ideas and build abstract and meaningful information about them inside your computer.
