Until we have Panda and Blender installed as part of a standard setup for all machines in the school (this may take some time), it is actually quite easy to set them up yourselves so that you can use those machines for the course projects and assignments.
You can download and install Panda and Blender to your own network drive (N:) or onto your USB stick (they will take about 370 MB of space total).
When you move to a different machine, all you have to do is to tell the machine where Panda and Python are located, and you are good to go. You do this with environmental variables:
1. Right click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties" 2. Choose "Advanced->Environment Variables" 3. Add the following "New" variables to "User variables for <user>" (use the correct paths for your setup): PATH N:\Panda3D-1.7.0\bin;N:\Panda3D-1.7.0\python PYTHONHOME N:\Panda3D-1.7.0\python
And you should be good to go!
